Northern California's premier cable wakeboard park

No expensive boat or gas needed. Just grab a handle, get pulled by the cable, and ride. A main cable and a training cable for every skill level, from first-timers to pros.

Cable wakeboarding: no boat, no problem

Traditional wakeboarding requires an expensive boat, a driver, fuel, and a trip to the lake. Cable wakeboarding removes all of that. An overhead cable tows you around the lake at a consistent speed, so all you need to do is hold on and ride.

The cable system is quieter, more eco-friendly, and more affordable than boat-based wakeboarding. It also makes learning easier because the pull is steady and predictable. Whether you have never touched a wakeboard or you are landing backflips, Velocity Island Park has the right setup for you.

  • Gear available to rent, or bring your own

Tips for first-time riders

Cable wakeboarding is easier to learn than you might think. Here are a few tips to help you get up on your first try.

1. Let the cable pull you

The most common mistake is trying to stand up too early. Stay in a crouched position with your arms straight and let the cable pull you out of the water. Once you feel the tension, slowly stand up.

2. Keep your arms straight

Resist the urge to pull the handle toward your body. Keep your arms extended and let the cable do the work. Bending your arms will throw off your balance.

3. Look where you want to go

Your body follows your eyes. Look ahead in the direction you want to travel, not down at the water or at the board. Keep your weight centered over the board.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need any experience to try cable wakeboarding?

Not at all. Our 2.0 Beginner Cable is specifically designed for people who have never been on a wakeboard. The straight-line tow and lower speeds make it easy to learn, and most first-timers are riding within minutes.

What should I wear?

Wear a swimsuit or athletic shorts and a rash guard. Avoid loose clothing that can catch on the cable or handle. We provide the life jacket and helmet. Board shorts with pockets should have the pockets emptied and zipped or velcroed shut.

How long is a wakeboard session?

Session lengths vary depending on the pass you purchase. Daily passes give you access for the full operating hours that day. Check the booking page for specific session times and availability.

Can kids ride the cable?

Yes, as long as they meet the 42-inch height requirement. Younger or shorter riders may qualify with a swim test and board demonstration. The 2.0 Beginner Cable is great for kids learning the sport.

Do I need to book in advance?

Online booking is recommended, especially for weekends and night riding sessions when spots fill up. Walk-ins are accepted based on availability, but booking ahead guarantees your spot.
